Position Summary
Our client is seeking a professional, organized, and bilingual (English/Spanish) Human Resources Coordinator to manage day-to-day HR operations. This role is responsible for employee records, recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, training coordination, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with California employment laws and company policies.
This position is fully onsite and supports operations across two locations in Oakland and Hayward, CA. The organization employs approximately 200 employees, and this individual will serve as the sole HR representative, overseeing all HR functions for the company.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain confidential employee personnel files, HR records, and databases.
- Coordinate recruiting efforts, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, and hiring documentation.
- Manage all onboarding activities, including orientations, new hire paperwork, and required compliance documents.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and employment matters.
- Coordinate employee scheduling, meetings, training sessions, and HR calendars.
- Design, organize, track, and administer employee training, safety programs, professional development initiatives, internal safety meetings, and California-mandated safety trainings.
- Maintain employment documentation, acknowledgments, certifications, and compliance records.
- Assist with payroll-related documentation, workers' compensation matters, leaves of absence, and other HR administrative functions.
- Prepare HR reports and support management with employee relations and performance initiatives.
- Perform other HR and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish (required).
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Certifications
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
- PHR or SPHR
- California HR compliance training or equivalent professional development
Compensation & Benefits
- $90,000 - $120,000 annually (DOE)

Work Environment
This is a fully onsite position supporting two operational yard locations in Oakland and Hayward, CA. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys working independently, and is comfortable serving as the primary HR resource for a workforce of approximately 200 employees.
